Just trying to calm down a bit and relax.
I bet you guys didn't know this by now, but I'm such a total time travel nerd. ;P
You deserve a cookie if you know what this means and could create a logical response to this.

I'm pretty sure this means that the space-time continuum could be torn by the creation of a zone where time is displaced, which would create a time paradox that destroys the universe.

However, in a zone where time has been displaced, there cannot be a time paradox. For there is not time. For that matter, without time, the universe couldn't be destroyed because we would never be able to reach a point where the universe is destroyed. Because there is no time, everything is the same.

Also, creating a rift in the space time continuum would not destroy the universe, just a specific point in the universe.

For that matter, the classic example of a time paradox is the old travel to the past and prevent yourself from being born thing. Because if you weren't born, you would never have been able to go back and prevent your birth, causing an endless loop. However, in order for time travel to work, there would have to be two separate time zones existing at once, and that any change to one could radically alter the second. But if there are time travelers, whenever they would have traveled back to the past wold have already happened, and the changes already made.

...Not sure where I'm going with this. The point is, taking out a small portion of time and space won't collapse the whole thing.

Yeah, but you got to think deeper than that. There could be time-travellers among us, but keeping themselves unnoticed. Like not appearing in front of millions of people after exiting out of a time portal (or whatever you use to travel through time).

If that would happen, people would know that time travellers exist, but it could disrupt the natural course of how time travel was achieved.

So if there are any time travellers, they would try to be as discrete as possible. Like trying to blend in with the past's society. Or not get involved with big historical events.
